"Finbo" is a delightful and touching children's tale set in the deep blue ocean, where a little blue whale named Finbo resides. Despite being called "little," Finbo is actually much larger than all of his friends. His favorite game is hide and seek, but he struggles because his size makes it difficult for him to hide and easy for his friends to find him. Frustrated and saddened by his inability to fit in and win the game, Finbo wishes he were smaller like his friends.

His mother explains to him the unique attributes of whales and encourages him to be proud of who he is. However, Finbo finds it hard to understand the benefits of his size until one day, his friends venture too far and encounter a dangerous shark. Using his massive size, Finbo scares away the shark, protecting his friends from harm.

Realizing his worth and the advantages of being different, Finbo becomes a hero to his friends. They apologize for teasing him and express their gratitude. To cheer them up, Finbo takes his friends to the surface of the ocean, where they witness the sky, birds, sun, clouds, ships, and faraway lands for the first time.
